A 33-year-old man faces federal charges after sending bomb threats to over 150 school districts, synagogues, airports, hospitals, and malls in several states, including New York and Connecticut, officials announced.
Peru resident Eddie Manuel Nunez Santos, age 33, was arrested by Peruvian authorities on Tuesday, Sept. 26 after allegedly placing a string of bomb threats in New York, Connecticut, Arizona, and Alaska in retaliation against teenage girls for them refusing to send him sexually explicit photos, the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced.

Two Long Island men are facing federal charges for allegedly running sex trafficking rings.
Lamont Young, age 41, of Hauppauge, and Michail McKen, age 35, of Baldwin are named in separate indictments that were unsealed in federal court in Central Islip Wednesday, Sept. 27.
According to prosecutors, both men forced women to engage in prostitution by subjecting them to violence.

A pair of twin brothers and investment advisors are facing 20 years in prison after allegedly defrauding clients out of millions.
The brothers, Adam and Daniel Kaplan, both age 34 and hailing from Great Neck, were indicted on charges of wire fraud, money laundering, and more, the US District Attorney’s Eastern District of New York announced on Tuesday, July 25.
Adam and Daniel, between May 2018 and November 2022, took on hundreds of clients as investment advisors from New York all the way to Arizona, according to the indictment and public records.

Recall Issued For Beef Product Distributed To Restaurants, Retailers In New York
Nearly 100,000 pounds of beef products that were illegally shipped into New York and distributed to New York restaurants and retailers are being recalled due to a lack of inspection, federal officials announced.
GLC Trading Inc., which is based out of Chino, California, is recalling approximately 98,810 pounds of beef tallow products that were imported from the People’s Republic of China, an ineligible country for beef, without an inspection from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

Covid-19: Five States Removed From NY/NJ/CT Quarantine List, One Territory Added
Travelers from five states have been removed from the COVID-19 joint quarantine list of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
This marks the first week since the list was started on Thursday, June 25, when eight states were initially named, that no new states with high COVID positivity testing rates have been added. However, one new territory has been added: Guam.
The five states removed on Tuesday, Aug. 25 are Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Maryland and Montana.
