Teen Hit By Car Outside High School On Long Island, Seriously Injured
A teenage girl suffered serious injuries after she was hit by a car near a high school on Long Island, police said. It happened on Tuesday, Oct. 3 in Levittown, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 3:50 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was on Division Avenue just north of Church Road — the location of Division Avenue High School — when she was struck by a 2016 Mazda. The girl was taken via helicopter to a local hospital for her serious injuries. She is currently in stable condition, officials said. Watch: Officers Rescue Man Clinging To Kayak In Mastic Beach
A 34-year-old man was rescued after his kayak capsized on Long Island over the weekend. The incident happened in Mastic Beach at about 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, the Suffolk County Police Department reported. A man was hunting in Narrow Bay when the kayak capsized, and he fell into the water, SCPD said. Police said a person on land saw him in the water and called 911. Police are seeking tips from the public after a 34-year-old man was the victim of an early morning robbery on Long Island. The incident happened at around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, in South Farmingdale, near Yoakum Avenue and Woodward Parkway, according to Nassau County Police. Detectives said the victim was walking near the intersection when two men approached and demanded his belongings. He complied and gave the men his wallet. A 34-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition after the vehicle he was driving on Long Island collided with a dump truck.The crash happened on Montauk Highway near South Country Road in Brookhaven at about 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. A 34-year-old man was seriously injured after crashing his motorcycle and becoming trapped under an SUV on Long Island. The crash took place around 10:38 p.m., Monday, May 17 on the Sunrise Highway (Route 27), in Wantagh, Nassau County Police said.
