The most recent robbery at the shop in Franklin Square happened on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8:10 p.m., Nassau County Police said.
According to detectives, the suspect, identified as 55-year-old Jerry Torres, of Franklin Square, entered the store located at 679 Franklin Ave. Once inside, he pointed a small dark handgun at a 35-year-old female customer, pushing and ordering her to the rear of the shop, behind the counter, police said.
Torres then demanded a 21-year-old male employee open the register, police said. After the employee complied, Torres removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled northbound on foot, according to police. No injuries were reported.
A subject with the same description is responsible for a robbery that occurred on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at the same location, police said.
Torres has been charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.
He will be arraigned on Friday, Oct. 4 in First District Court in Hempstead.
