Motorcyclist Injured After Becoming Trapped Under SUV On Sunrise Highway, Police Say

A 34-year-old man was seriously injured after crashing his motorcycle and becoming trapped under an SUV on Long Island.

The crash took place around 10:38 p.m., Monday, May 17 on the Sunrise Highway (Route 27), in Wantagh, Nassau County Police said.

According to detectives, the man was driving a Honda motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway in the vicinity of Seaford Avenue when he lost control, struck a curb, and became trapped under a Chevy Suburban.

The motorcyclist was removed from underneath the parked vehicle and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Honda motorcycle was impounded for a brake and safety check.

The investigation is ongoing.
