A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car overnight on Long Island.
It happened at around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 in Brentwood, according to Suffolk County Police.
Alejo Surpicio, 51, of Brentwood, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry southbound on Washington Avenue, south of Heyward Street, when his vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the avenue from west to east.
The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries. Surpicio was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
