Oyster Bay resident Frank Mejia, 30, entered the 7-Eleven store in Oyster Bay on Pine Hollow Road at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, police said. Once inside, Mejia requested a pizza from an employee, when he was advised that the location wasn’t currently serving any food.

According to Nassau County Police Department investigators, Mejia “became irate and followed the employee behind a counter and into a back room marked employees only and became physically aggressive towards the employee.”

It is alleged that Mejia then took out a knife, swung it at the employee several times and followed him outside the door. The employee suffered a small laceration to his left hand, but refused medical attention.

Officers from the Nassau County Police Department then responded to the scene and Mejia was taken into custody without further incident.

Mejia was arrested and charged two counts of burglary, assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, Sept. 27 at First District Court in Hempstead.
