Hit-Run Suspect On Run After Striking Officer, Fleeing Scene In Shirley, Police Say

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers are on the lookout for a motorist suspected of striking a police car and fleeing the scene.

Police say an on-duty officer who was removing debris from the roadway in Shirley was struck by the passenger side of a dark sedan on Tuesday, April 30 at approximately 12:40 a.m.

The motorist fled the scene, and the officer suffered from minor injuries, according to police.
