Fatal Crash: 53-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In 2-Vehicle Collision On Busy Selden Roadway

Police are investigating a fatal crash during the height of the evening commute on a busy Long Island roadway.

It happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 in Selden.

A 23-year-old Selden man was driving a 2009 Ford Escape southbound on Boyle Road and was behind a man riding an electric scooter when the vehicles collided just north of Middle Country Road, Suffolk County Police said,

The operator of the scooter, Henry Leib, age 53, of Selden, was pronounced dead on the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Escape was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
