Guns, Drugs Trafficking Networks Busted In Region, 7 Arrested, AG Says Large gun trafficking and narcotics networks were busted and seven suspects were arrested during raids in the region. The networks and suspects were operating out of Dutchess County, mostly in the Poughkeepsie area, according to New York Attorney General Letitia James. The arrests were made on Wednesday, Feb. 14 throughout Dutchess County. According to James, the gun trafficking network sold ghost guns and assault-style rifles and the narcotics trafficking network distributed counterfeit oxycodone pills containing deadly amounts of fentanyl in Dutchess County.  The takedowns recovere…

Tip Helps Nab 25-Year-Old With Illegal Gun, Drugs, Over $20K In Capital Region, Police Say A man from the region is facing drug and weapons charges thanks to an anonymous tip to police. In Rensselaer County, Richawn McClain, age 25, of Troy, was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 9. Troy Police officers were called to the area of River and Rensselaer streets after someone submitted an anonymous tip on the agency’s website reporting suspicious activity. During their investigation, detectives identified McClain as the suspect. A surveillance team spotted him a short time later and arrested him without incident. Long Island resident Daniel Russo, age 44, of the village of Cedarhurst in Nassau County, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including conspiring to distribute and possess oxycodone, in federal court in Brooklyn on Friday, Feb. 17.
