Unlucky: Drunk Driver Crashes Into Dumpster In Hudson Valley On St. Patrick's Day, Police Say
A woman faces charges after crashing her car into a dumpster while allegedly driving drunk on St. Patrick's Day in the Hudson Valley, police said.
On Friday, March 17, around 10:30 p.m., police in Putnam County responded to Tonianne Drive in Kent for a reported vehicle crash, according to Kent Police.
There, they found that a woman had crashed her gray Honda Accord into a dumpster container.
The woman, identified as 46-year-old Erika Rizzotto of Kent, was then asked by an officer if she had been drinking that evening, to which she replied, "yes," police said.

On Sunday, Oct. 23, around 2 a.m. in Putnam County, police officers in Kent found a man sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of Chris' Automotive located at 349 NY-52, and decided to find out why the man was at the business after hours, police said.

ID Released For Victim Of Fatal House Fire In Hudson Valley
A grandfather who died after saving his two young grandchildren from a raging house fire has been identified by police.
Putnam County resident Jintu Zheng, age 65, of Lake Carmel, was found inside the burning home on Scarsdale Road around 10 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, said the Kent Police.
On arrival at the home, Brewster firefighters and Kent police went into the house to look for Zheng as flames engulfed the home, police said.
Zheng was found by a back window. He was rushed to Putnam Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

ID Released For Swimmer Found Dead In Area Lake
A Fairfield County man found dead in Lake Carmel after an exhaustive search has been identified by police in Putnam County.
Jeremy Kipnis, 54, of Redding, was found floating in the middle of Lake Carmel around 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 22, said the Kent Police.
Kipnis disappeared after telling his wife he was going swimming Saturday afternoon, July 20, but then never returned home.
His wife, Carolina Kipnis, said on Facebook that a preliminary autopsy report showed Kipnis had a heart attack in the water.
