Man Says He Almost Fell Off Chair After Buying $1M Lottery Ticket At NY Stop & Shop
A New York man shared his surprise after realizing he won a $1 million lottery prize. Queens resident Jorge Ortega, of Glendale, claimed the prize after matching the first five Powerball numbers in a drawing held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, according to an announcement from the New York Lottery on Wednesday, March 9. Ortega told NY Lottery he almost fell off his chair after he saw the numbers printed on his ticket. He received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $612,240 after required withholdings. Citing the economic impact of COVID-19, a Westchester County location of a popular pizza chain announced its closure this September. "Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and related lease challenges with our landlords, we regret to inform you that we have closed this CPK restaurant," the Scarsdale California Pizza Kitchen announced on their website. Pastor Accused Of Exchanging Sexually Explicit Messages With Westchester Boy
A pastor from Queens has been arrested and charged with receiving pornographic images of a 15-year-old boy in Westchester and engaging in sexually explicit text communications. Francis Hughes, 65, was arrested Wednesday, July 29, Audrey Strauss, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and William F.
