Vacant Restaurant Damaged In Overnight Fire A vacant restaurant that was slated for renovation was heavily damaged during an early-morning fire. The call for the fire at the former Cozzy's Place restaurant at 256 Hooker Ave., came in about 2:20 a.m., Tuesday, July 2 said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. The first firefighters on the scene found fire on the upper floor of the two-and-half-story building.  "They (the firefighters) attacked the fire from the second floor to access the attic area where the fire was located," the chief said.
