A man lying horizontally was found burning after police in Fairfield County responded to a call for a possible fire near a popular park. The incident took place in New Canaan around 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10 in the area of Lapham Road near Waveny Park. Police are asking the public for help after a 50-year-old woman was found murdered inside her apartment in Fairfield County. Denise McClaughlin was found around 9 p.m., Friday, April 2 in Stamford, after police officers responded to her home for a welfare check When officers responded they found McClaughlin dead inside her first-floor apartment at 48 Manor St., Stamford Police Captain Richard Conklin. An investigation is underway after a fatal crash that left one person dead and an area Verizon store in flames. The incident took place around 3:50 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Riverside Commons Shopping Center located at 1233 East Putnam Ave., in Greenwich, said Captain Mark Zuccerella. ID Released For Man Found Dead At Greenwich Point
A man found dead at Greenwich Point has been identified by police. The body of Douglas Cram, 76, of Greenwich, was discovered late Monday, Dec. 30, at Greenwich Point. Cram’s car was found parked within the recreation area with its doors open during a rainstorm, Greenwich Police said. Police checked the area and located Cram’s body a short distance away. At this time there does not appear to be any foul play, police said. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police are investigating the sudden death of a person in Mianus River Park in Greenwich. Hikers came upon the white male in his 60’s deceased on a trail in the Greenwich side of the park on Saturday, June 8. Greenwich Police said. Police Narrowing Down Search Area In Connection With Baby Found Dead
A week after a full-term baby was found dead at a Stamford recycling center, police are actively working the case and have reached out to neighboring states for assistance. The baby boy was discovered on Oct. 16, at the City Carting garbage transfer station at Taylor Reed Place by an employee who was sorting materials. Stamford Husband Charged In Wife's Brutal Murder
A 75-year-old Stamford man has been charged with the grisly murder of his wife whose body was found covered in blood with her throat slit in their home. Allen Claxton turned himself into Stamford Police Thursday morning on a murder warrant, said Capt. Richard Conklin. He was expected to be released early this afternoon on $150,000 bond, Conklin said.
