Judge Orders Port Chester To Restore Staffing For Rye Fire Station PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – A state Supreme Court judge ordered Port Chester to temporarily restore paid staffing to the Rye Brook fire station Tuesday, according to lohud.com. The ruling came just after Rye Brook filed a lawsuit against Port Chester for violation of their shared fire services contract, lohud.com said. Port Chester made the decision to eliminate its paid fire department last week, facilitating the lawsuit, reported lohud.com. Shiba Inu Missing In New Rochelle NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The owner of a missing Shiba Inu named Joe in New Rochelle is looking for him. The dog ran away while attached to a 10-foot tie-out leash, and has no collar if he slipped out of the leash. His owner can be contacted via the Lost Pets of Westchester County Facebook page.

Five Families Displaced In Yonkers Apartment Fire YONKERS, N.Y. – Five families were left temporarily displaced after an apartment fire in Yonkers on Saturday, according to lohud.com. The fire on St. Casimir Avenue only affected one apartment, but eight other units were affected as well, lohud.com said. Those apartments could be left without electricity and gas for up to five days according to the Red Cross, reported lohud.com. No injuries were reported in the fire, lohud.com noted. 10K Road Race Will Impact Travel On Roads In New Castle NEW CASTLE, N.Y. – The New Castle Police Department announced expected traffic delays and road closures for Sunday's Recreation and Parks 10K Road Race. Motorists are asked to avoid the route of the race between 8 and 10 a.m., and a number of roads will be closed in the morning: Quaker Road southbound from Roaring Brook Road to South Greeley from 8:05 to 10 a.m. Quaker Road northbound between Seven Bridges Road and Hardscrabble from 8:05 to 10 a.m. South Greeley Avenue from 8 to 8:30 a.m.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Hudson Valley Mini-Mart Robbery SULLIVAN COUNTY, N.Y. – Two men were arrested by Sullivan County deputy sheriffs in connection with a mini-mart in robbery Cochecton earlier this week, according to TWC News. Thomas Crowley, 34, and Cody Krug, 23, were arrested on charges of robbery and petit larceny, TWC News said. The robbery occurred Tuesday night; just $200 was stolen since the owner of the mini-mart was able to stop one of the robbers from taking the cash register, reported TWC News. Trial Ends In Danbury Armed Assault Case; Judge Plans July Verdict DANBURY, Conn. – A Danbury judge will make the final decision in an armed assault case sometime in July after the trial ended on Friday, according to the News-Times. The defendant, Kerlyn Taveras, is accused of multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault, home invasion and strangulation against an ex-girlfriend, the News-Times said. Pelham School District Releases Sample Ballot Before Election PELHAM, N.Y. – The Pelham school district has released a sample ballot on its Facebook page before Tuesday's school budget and Board of Education elections. Voters will be asked three ye- or-no questions: whether to approve the agreed-upon school budget, to approve the proposed renovations to the high school, and to allow the district to start a capital reserve fund earmarked for general upkeep and renovations. Gran Fondo New York Bike Race Rides Through Ramapo RAMAPO, N.Y. – The annual Gran Fondo New York bike race will run through Ramapo on Sunday, the Ramapo Police Department said. The course will start in New York City, running to Bear Mountain and back to the city, a route of 100 miles.
