A woman is facing a felony charge after police said she struck a victim with a vacuum during a dispute in Northern Westchester.
Ljendita Gjonbalaj, 52, of Yorktown, was arrested on Wednesday, April 22, and charged with attempted second-degree assault, a felony, the Yorktown Police Department announced this week.
Officers were dispatched to a home just after 1 p.m. on the day of the arrest for a reported physical domestic incident. The victim told police he had been assaulted by Gjonbalaj, authorities said.

Three prisoners were killed in New York State prisons within five days last week, state police said Monday, April 13.
All three men were killed in altercations with other prisoners, according to New York State Police. Additional charges against the three suspects are pending.

Married couple Estrado Willis, 45, and Eleanor Willis, 46, owners of Mangoville Meat & Grocery at 133 South 4th Ave. in Mount Vernon, were arraigned on March 27 in Mount Vernon City Court, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday, April 9.
Prosecutors allege the pair failed to remit around $76,000 in sales taxes collected from customers between March 2018 and April 2025.
