Lindenhurst Man Convicted After Knuckle Knife, Cocaine, Fentanyl Recovered During Traffic Stop A 41-year-old man was convicted of felony charges after bags of cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl and a metal knuckle knife were recovered after a traffic stop on Long Island. Fairfield County Man Accused Of Driving Impaired After 2-Vehicle Crash A 55-year-old man was charged with operating under the influence along with a series of additional charges after Connecticut State troopers reported that he was uncooperative while they investigated a crash. The New Haven County crash happened on Route 8 southbound in the city of Derby near Exit 15 at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, Connecticut State Police reported. Ex-Northern Westchester Resident Gwyneth Paltrow Stops By Eatery, Citing 'Most Perfect Pizza' Gwyneth Paltrow showed her appreciation for a longtime Connecticut pizzeria. The actress, who has appeared in films including "Shakespeare in Love" and "Emma," paid a visit to Sally's Apizza in New Haven. The pizzeria, located at 237 Wooster St., shared a photo from Paltrow's visit in a Facebook post, along with a photo of a message she wrote on a pizza box thanking the staff. Seen Him? Man Wanted For Stealing From Islandia Store Authorities asked the public for help identifying a man who is accused of stealing pairs of shoes from a Long Island store. A man stole three pairs of shoes from Famous Footwear in Islandia at about 1:50 p.m. on March 30, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Thursday, Dec. 1. The store is located at 1770 Veterans Memorial Highway, authorities said. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Troopers Investigate After Shots Fired In CT Neighborhood An investigation is underway after shots were fired in a Connecticut neighborhood. Troopers in Hartford County received a report at about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from a Burlington resident who heard gunshots fired on West Ledge Road, Connecticut State Police reported. First Flu Death Of Season Confirmed In Connecticut As Person In 50s Health officials have reported this season's first flu death in Connecticut. The individual who died in November was a resident of New London County and was in their 50s, the Connecticut Department of Health announced on Monday, Nov. 28. CT Man Admits Attempting To Travel To Syria To Fight For ISIS A 25-year-old Connecticut man has admitted he tried to travel to Syria to fight on behalf of ISIS. New York Man Wins $1M Scratch-Off Prize A Long Island man won a $1 million New York Lottery prize. Julian De Jesus Paz Lorenzana, of Hempstead, claimed his prize from the lottery's Lucky 13 scratch-off game, NY Lottery announced on Wednesday, Nov. 30. He received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $496,440 after required withholdings, the lottery reported.
