Thousands Raised To Help Cheerleading Team In Westchester Compete In National Championship A community is pulling together to help give a Westchester County cheerleading team the opportunity of a lifetime.  Thousands of dollars have been raised for the Mount Vernon High School Cheerleading team, which has qualified to compete in the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, according to head coach Mekiyah Knox.  To be able to compete in the championship though, which will be held from Friday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 12, the team needs to raise money to pay for travel expenses, lodging fees, accommodations…

As Toy Story 4 continues to dominate at the box office, Disney is recalling approximately 80,000 11-inch “Forky” plush dolls, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced this week.  The recall was announced due to the product’s “googly” plastic eyes on the toy, which can detach, posing a potential choking hazard to younger children. The toy has poseable arms, a base, rainbow screen art on top of the foot and plastic rolling “googly” eyes, CPSC said. Briarcliff Cheerleaders Head To Nationals BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The Briarcliff cheerleading squad is going to Disney World. The cheerleaders will be competing at the National High Scool Cheerleading Championship on Feb. 10-11 at Walt Disney World. The contest will be televised on ESPN. This is the first time Briarcliff is competing at nationals. The team qualified after competing at a regional competition in the Poconos.  The 15 cheerleaders, coached by Stephanie Georgioudakis, do a three-minute routine featuring cheers, stunting, and dancing.
