Missing Brewster Dog Reunited With Owners
BREWSTER, N.Y. – Brewski, a Husky who was missing from his Brewster home, has been found safe, say the folks at the Putnam Humane Society. The dog, which went missing from a house on Deans Corner Road, has been reunited with his owners.

I-684 Lane Closures In Effect This Week
Maintenance projects are resulting in lane closures on I-684 in Westchester and Putnam counties this week. In Putnam’s Southeast, single lane closures are occurring between Exit 9 (I-84) and Exit 10 (Route 6/202) starting Monday, Feb. 6 and running through Friday, Feb. 10. Croton Firefighters, Police Keep Porch Fire From Spreading To Home
CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Croton firefighters were called to 20 Van Wyck Street Sunday after one of the residents of the wooden, multi-family home detected smoke emanating from its front porch. The landlord was already pulling up smoldering boards from the porch when firefighters arrived on the scene within two minutes of receiving the 12:23 p.m. call. Croton police officers, whose headquarters are right up the street, had lent a hand by using their fire extinguishers, firefighters said in a Facebook post. Big Changes In Store For Rockland Commuters
Rockland commuters who use Coach USA’s #20 buses will notice some significant changes when they head back to work this week. As of Monday, Feb. 6, #20 buses will no longer service stops on Orangeburgh Road, Sickletown Road and Convent Road west of 3rd Avenue, the transit company announced on its website. This #20 bus route will instead continue on Old Middletown Road to Gilbert & Veterans Memorial Highway. It also will include a stop at the Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River on Veterans Memorial Highway. The #20 takes riders to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey bus terminal. …

Students Hailed For Role In Rockland Tobacco Ban
ROCKLAND COUNTY N.Y. – Rockland students got a real lesson in people power when they witnessed the signing of a bill making it illegal to sell tobacco products in pharmacies. With one stroke of the pen Friday, County Executive Ed Day, an admitted former smoker, made Rockland the first county in the state to do so. Clarkstown Police Search For Woman, 29, On Larceny, Stolen Property Charges
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- A Rockland woman is being sought on charges of larceny and possession of stolen property, Clarkstown police said. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 29-year-old Rachel Matias of Spring Valley, police said. Matias is described as white, 4 feet 6 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes. Clarkstown police are asking anyone with knowledge of Matias’s whereabouts to call their warrant unit at (845) 639-5880, or their TIPS line at (877) 639-6233.
