The deadly crash took place in Dutchess County around 9:40 a.m. on Route 55 in the Dover hamlet of Wingdale.  A preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2011 Mazda 3 sedan driven by Valerie G. Parsons, age 80, of Wingdale, was entering Route 55 from a private driveway when it was struck by a 2015 Kenworth truck traveling eastbound on Route 55, said Capt. Dutchess County resident Loretta Lashomb, of Wingdale, claimed a top prize from the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Lucky Dog scratch-off game, the lottery announced on Monday, Aug. 22. She received the prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $559,860 after required withholdings, NY Lottery said. The ticket was purchased at Carol’s Gift Shop, which is located at 3081 Route 22 in Dover Plains, the lottery said.

One Seriously Injured In Head-On Dutchess Crash One person was seriously injured in a head-on crash after being trapped in the vehicle, according to the New York State Police. The crash took place around 8:35 a.m. Wednesday at 3010 Pleasant Ridge Road in Wingdale, said AJ Hicks, spokesman for the New York State Police.
