Van Bursts Into Flames In Hudson Valley: Photos A vehicle fire in the Hudson Valley prompted a quick response from firefighters and left a van almost completely engulfed in flames.  The fire happened on Thursday afternoon, June 29 in Putnam County on Route 311 in the town of Patterson at Maple Avenue, according to the Patterson Fire Dept. No.1.  Fire officials said that no injuries resulted from the blaze. Crews remained at the scene of the fire as of 4:40 p.m. on Thursday.  The cause of the fire was not released by authorities.

Snow Plow Driver Dies In Crash At Business In Region A 50-year-old snow plow driver has died following a fiery crash at a business in the region. Emergency crews in Greene County were called shortly after midnight on Monday, Dec. 12, with reports of a crash in Coxsackie at the Essendant Distribution Center, located on State Route 9W, according to State Police. Investigators said Lamont Jackson, of Catskill, was plowing a parking lot when he collided with a stationary box trailer, sparking a fire. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 21-Year-Old Killed In Fiery Hudson Valley Crash Police are investigating a fiery fatal crash in Westchester County. It happened around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, July 17 on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh. Responders were dispatched to mile marker 5.6 northbound for a report of a crash with a vehicle engulfed in flames.  Greenburgh Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived prior to state troopers but were unable to extricate the victim, Paul A. It happened around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6, in Dutchess County on Route 9G in Red Hook. The man was driving a 1986 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Route 9G approaching the Rokeby Road intersection when he was hit by an Irvington woman driving a 2011 Toyota passenger car who failed to yield the right of way, according to the Red Hook Police. It happened just before noontime on Tuesday, May 25 in Somers on Route 100 and Elmer Galloway Road. Before arrival by firefighters and EMS personnel, a state trooper applied a tourniquet to a seriously injured driver of one of the vehicles, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.
