High-Speed Chase Ends In Flat Tire For Suspect In Hudson Valley, Police Say A man who led police on a high-speed chase on several busy parkways in Westchester was caught after his vehicle suffered a flat tire, authorities said.  The incident happened on Tuesday, April 18 around 9 a.m., when a Westchester County Police officer saw a black Mercedes driving at a high speed on the northbound Bronx River Parkway near the Cross County Parkway interchange.  According to police, the officer tried pulling the Mercedes over but it did not stop. It happened around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, July 17 on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh. Responders were dispatched to mile marker 5.6 northbound for a report of a crash with a vehicle engulfed in flames.  Greenburgh Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived prior to state troopers but were unable to extricate the victim, Paul A. 28-Year-Old Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash Police are investigating a weekend crash that claimed the life of a Westchester man. It happened on Sunday, June 26 on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the town of Greenburgh. An initial investigation determined Zahid Sotero Vergara, age 28, of Harrison, was operating a 2010 Aprilia motorcycle southbound and lost control of his motorcycle while changing lanes, state police said. Vergara was rendered aid by responding Emergency Medical Technicians with Greenburgh Police EMS who transported him to Westchester Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. This investigation remains ongoing.
