There will be a new traffic pattern on a busy Hudson Valley roadway that could potentially cause delays for several months as crews get set to begin construction work in the region. An area man who fled from police during a routine traffic stop causing a school lockdown was captured after a chase. The 20-year-old unidentified Dutchess County man from Pawling was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 9, following the stop by Carmel Police in Putnam County. A driver was injured when a box truck and sedan collided on a busy stretch of Route 6. Shortly after noon on Wednesday, Aug. 12, first responders in Putnam County were dispatched to a stretch of Route 6, where there were reports of a two-car crash with injuries in Mahopac. A swerving driver who apparently was falling asleep at the wheel in Northern Westchester is facing a felony charge for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, police said. There will be double lane closures for several days on the Taconic State Parkway for several days. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Wednesday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 20, there will be two southbound lanes closed on the parkway in Yorktown. An officer directing traffic was rushed to the hospital after being struck by SUV on a busy stretch of Route 6. The incident happened around 7:38 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 in Mahopac. The closure was between Mahopac Avenue in Somers and Windsor Road in Yorktown following the 7:20 a.m. crash. Several People Rescued After Car Crashes Near Reservoir In Carmel
Multiple first responders were able to save several people from serious injury after a car crashed into an embankment near a reservoir in Carmel with the occupants still inside. The crash took place Friday afternoon on Washington Road, off of Route 6, according to officials. Carmel Police were first on the scene and found an occupied vehicle down the embankment.
