Ulster County resident Walton R. Gordon, age 31, of Saugerties was arrested on Tuesday, July 11, for the incident which took place on Saturday, June 24. 29-Year-Old Stabbed Man In Head, Arm During Dispute In Region, Police Say A suspect is behind bars after an argument between two men escalated to a stabbing attack in the Capital District, authorities said. The incident happened in Rensselaer County at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, near Third and Congress streets in Troy. The victim told Troy Police he and another man were involved in a verbal dispute when the suspect stabbed him in his head and arm. The man was apprehended in Ulster County while officers were conducting a warrant investigation on Tuesday, Aug. 23. While conducting the investigation, officers located AJ Brown, age unknown, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, living in the hamlet of Glasco, in the town of Saugerties, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said. The 22-year-old unidentified man was arrested by Ramapo police around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, in Rockland County in the village of Sloatsburg. According to the Ramapo Police, officers responded to a residence in Sloatsburg at 53 Laurel Road or a reported stabbing. Murders, Rapes Spike In NYC Despite Lower Overall Crime Rate The NYPD has seen a spike in rapes and murders, though overall, crime in New York City is down from this time a year ago. Officials in Manhattan have touted the fact that overall, there is a lower crime rate, however, rapes and murders are on the rise through early March, according to the NYPD’s CompState report. The report found that in 2019, there have been 53 murders, up 29.3 percent from last year, when there were 41 in the same timeframe. Michael P. Thorpe was arrested on Monday after New York State Police received a call from teachers and officials at the child's school who were concerned about the abuse, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
