4 Apprehended After Gunfire Breaks Out In Broad Daylight Near Poughkeepsie City Hall
Four suspects have been apprehended after gunfire broke out in broad daylight near a city hall in the region. The incident happened just before 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Poughkeepsie in the area of 55 Washington St. Officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired opposite Poughkeepsie City Hall. No gunshot victims were found but property damage was observed, and officers were informed of a vehicle that had fled the scene, Poughkeepsie PD Det. Sgt. Sean Fitzgerald said. Cocaine, Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed In Dutchess County, Police Say
A 37-year-old alleged cocaine and fentanyl dealer was nabbed by police investigating drug sales in the Hudson Valley. Dutchess County resident Michael Graham, age 37, of the city of Poughkeepsie was scooped up in Pershing Avenue Park by agents on Thursday, Sept. 14. According to Sgt. A Hudson Valley man has been charged with alleged criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell following an investigation by an area drug task force. Dutchess County resident Alonzo Newman, age 35, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 1, in Poughkeepsie. Newman was arrested following a warrant search at his home related to ongoing narcotic sales in the Poughkeepsie area, said Det. Adam Harris, of the task force. A man from Pleasant Valley is facing charges after police say he falsified official Family Court documents and claimed incidents of abuse. New York State Police say they received a complaint of suspicious documents filed with a governing organization on Friday, April 12. A high-speed police chase through Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties ended with the arrests of a man and woman who were caught with a large amount of heroin as well as cocaine. A monthlong investigation into heroin sales in Dutchess County led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man who was already awaiting sentencing for a separate crime and the seizure of thousands of dollars, police said. A retired Town of Poughkeepsie police lieutenant and lawyer who admitted to forcibly touching a former client was handed 45 days in jail and six years probation as his punishment, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Wayne Thatcher, 63, was arrested on May 18 and charged with two counts of forcible touching with a client.
