Bear Seen 'Making Beeline' For Garbage Cans In Northern Westchester: Here's Where A hungry bear was seen hunting for trash cans in a Northern Westchester neighborhood, officials said. In an announcement on Monday, July 29, North Salem Supervisor Warren Lucas said that several bear sightings had been reported around the town.  Lucas added that the most recent sighting was reported in the area of Yerkes Road. Hamlet Losing 20K Gallons Of Water Per Day From Unknown Leak In Northern Westchester Officials in a Northern Westchester hamlet are racing to find the location of a water main leak that is causing residents to consume an extra 20,000 gallons of water per day. Super Bowl Flyover: Navy Pilot From Northern Westchester Joins All-Woman Team For Big Game A US Navy pilot from Northern Westchester was one of several women who flew over Super Bowl LVII just before the game started.  Former North Salem resident and North Salem High School alumni Lieutenant Margaret Dente, also known as Peggy Bobbin, was part of the all-woman team who took part in an integrated flyover over State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where the game was held on Sunday, Feb. 12, North Salem Town Supervisor Warren Lucas said.  The flyover was conducted at the end of the national anthem, and consisted of three tactical aircraft squadrons, US Navy officials said.  …

Coyote Attacks 2 Local Residents On Walk In Northern Westchester A town in the region is warning residents to be on the lookout for a rabid coyote after two residents were attacked while walking. The incident took place in Northern Westchester on Thursday, Nov. 17 shortly after 5 p.m. in North Salem on Turkey Hill Road. One person was bitten with a puncture wound on their leg.
