Hudson Valley Woman Rescued By Police After Driving Into Pond, Issued 50 Tickets, Cops Say A Hudson Valley woman who allegedly fled from state police while driving under the influence and drove into a pond was rescued by a trooper. The incident took place in Orange in the town of Newburgh on Friday, Sept. 15 on Route 9W. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, troopers spotted a 2014 Cadillac traveling north on Route 9W in the town of Newburgh in violation of numerous traffic laws.  The trooper attempted to stop the car, but the driver identified as Melissa D. Four Teens Injured In Two-Car Crash In Area A 17-year-old female suffered serious injuries after failing to negotiate a turn in Milton and hit another vehicle. The crash took place around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, when the teen, from Highland, was traveling east on Old Indian Road in Milton, said Town of Marlborough Police Chief Gerald Cocozza. According to the chief, the crash occurred when the teen failed to navigate a turn and went into the westbound lane where she hit another vehicle driven by Devin Hernande-Gomez, of Milton, who was traveling west on Old Indian Road.
