Construction Crook: Hudson Valley Man Took Payment For Jobs He Didn't Finish, Police Say
A Hudson Valey man has been arrested on Long Island after he allegedly ran a construction company scam, taking customer’s money and leaving them high and dry, police said.
Westchester County resident Robert Stewart, age 39, of Harrison, was arrested in connection with his alleged schemes, Nassau County Police announced Thursday, Jan. 11.
According to police, Stewart, advertised himself as “Nxt Gen Construction” and took on construction jobs for at least two customers in Great Neck.
He allegedly received partial payments for the work and never completed them.

Two members of an organized crime ring are behind bars in connection with numerous home break-ins across the country, including in Westchester County and on Long Island, authorities said.
Jorge Luis Araneda Pogge, age 39, and Ingrid Johana Gomez, age 33, were both arrested in Queens Thursday, Jan. 12, following a multijurisdictional investigation that began in 2020, according to Harrison Police.

Two prize-winning lottery tickets valued at more than $18,000 were sold at stores in the Hudson Valley.
The two separate $18,232.50 Take-5 tickets were sold at stores in Westchester County, in Harrison, and in Putnam County, in Carmel, New York Lottery announced on Tuesday evening, Oct. 18.
NY Lottery said the ticket in Harrison was purchased at Wegmans, located at 106 Corporate Park Drive, and that the ticket in Carmel was purchased at Kent Liquors, located at 1100 Route 52.

Man Who Chased, Fatally Shot Victim In Hudson Valley Found Guilty By Jury, DA Says
A Westchester man has been found guilty after authorities say he chased down and then murdered a man near a housing complex.
Brandon Williams, age 28, was charged for the fatal shooting of Deron Strange, age 34, in White Plains that happened shortly before midnight on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in a parking lot behind the apartment complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office said.
