Man Sentenced For Raping Teen In Area
A 38-year-old man will spend the better part of a decade behind bars after admitting to raping a teenager in Northern Westchester. William Arias-Abril, of Peekskill, has been sentenced to six years in state prison in Westchester County Court after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree rape. He was sentenced to three years in state prison on each count, which will run consecutively. 25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With SUV Near Mall Entrance
A 25-year-old Fairfield County man was killed following a crash with a car, according to Danbury Police. Samuel Hyde of Danbury died Thursday following a serious crash around 7 p.m. on Backus Avenue near the west entrance of the Danbury Mall, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams. An investigation into the crash found that Hyde was operating a Honda CBR 954RR motorcycle at a high rate of speed, westbound on Backus Avenue when the motorcycle struck a 2008 Honda CRV, Williams said. Fugitive From Justice Nabbed In Hudson Valley
A wanted fugitive from justice was nabbed by Putnam County Sheriff's deputies during a routine traffic stop in the Town of Southeast, according to Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. Deputy Daniel Meury was on patrol on Thursday around 7 p.m., on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast, when he saw a vehicle make a turn, without properly signaling, into the parking lot of Heidi’s Inn, located at 1270 Route 22.
