After several hours of negotiations, a man surrendered to police after holding a woman against her will in a Westchester County apartment, authorities said. The incident started in the early morning of Friday, Feb. 10, around 3 a.m., when distressed family members told Mount Vernon Police that a woman was being held against her will at 29 East 4th St. and had sent concerning text messages about the situation. Man Accused Of Firing Gun Inside Home In Rockland
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with allegedly firing shots at his home. The incident took place in Rockland County in the Hillcrest area of Ramapo on Greenridge Way on Monday, Dec. 19. Responding units from the Ramapo Police were directed towards a specific home where the gunshots were believed to be coming from, the department said on Facebook. An investigation found that the 48-year-old Hillcrest man who lived at the home had allegedly fired the shots, police said. A local man has been charged in connection to a shot-fired incident at a Hudson Valley restaurant. The Dutchess County incident took place in the town of Fishkill at Antonella's Pizza around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. A man has been sentenced for an armed attack on a group of workers, including school bus drivers, in Westchester County. Brooklyn resident Tony Mauro, age 41, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison following the incident at Royal Coach Lines' Greenburgh bus depot about three-and-a-half years ago. One person was charged following a traffic stop in Westchester when officers found a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The incident took place in the Village of Mamaroneck around 1 a.m., on Monday, May 9. A police investigation in Haverstraw led to the apprehension of a man who allegedly robbed an Exxon gas station with a firearm. The armed robbery took place at approximately 6 a.m. at the Exxon gas station on Route 9W in Haverstraw, when the suspect - later identified as Stony Point resident David Molina, 30 - wielded a weapon and robbed the location.
