I-95 In Westchester Reopens Following Three-Vehicle Crash Involving Tractor-Trailers Traffic on I-95 in Westchester County has cleared following a crash between two tractor-trailers and a vehicle. The crash, which took place in Larchmont around 8:15 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 12,  closed all southbound lanes after one of the tractor-trailers jack-knifed blocking all lanes of traffic, New York State Police Trooper Tara McCormick said. A small fuel spill also had to be cleaned up at the scene, further delaying traffic which is still slow due to a secondary accident because of the traffic delays of up to six miles, McCormick said. Trooper Injured In Hit-Run New Rochelle Crash New York State Police are searching for the driver who hit a trooper while he was walking back to his cruiser on a busy roadway in Westchester. The incident took place just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28 in New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara McCormick. According to McCormick, the trooper was conducting a vehicle and traffic stop on I-95 southbound, in New Rochelle. As he was walking back to his patrol car a white van failed to move over and struck the trooper, and then fled the scene. 23-Year-Old Impaired Driver Nabbed With Illegal Handgun After Westchester Stop, Police Say A 23-year-old man was busted for DWI and for having a handgun following a traffic stop in Westchester. Zay Williams, age 23, of the Bronx, was arrested around 10:50 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, following a traffic stop on I-287 in Greenburgh, said Trooper Tara McCormick of the New York State Police. According to McCormick, Williams was arrested after he was stopped for multiple traffic violations and during a search, troopers found a loaded Colt 23-caliber handgun in his pocket. ID Released For 38-Year-Old Killed In Crash Involving New Rochelle Resident State Police have identified the driver of a tractor-trailer killed in a crash on I-87 in Rockland County. Victor M. Naula Lopez, age 38, of Whitestone, Queens, was killed around 5 a.m., Friday, March 12, on I-87 in Ramapo, said Trooper Tara McCormick. During the crash, Lopez was operating a 2018 Peterbilt tractor-trailer northbound on I-87, in the middle lane when a 2021 Toyota sideswiped the tractor-trailer, causing it to spin out and strike a 2011 Freightliner Semi, driven by Celso A.
