Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder Following New Rochelle Shooting A man was arrested after shooting another person in an apartment in Westchester in an incident police say “was not a random act." Officers from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to a Union Avenue home at around 8:10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, where there was a report of a man who had been shot in the chest. New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa said that upon arrival, officers found the 27-year-old man had been shot twice in the chest. The officers treated the victims until paramedics arrived.
