New Rochelle Man Dies Nearly Weeks After Crash With Suspected Drunk Driver A 27-year-old man from Westchester died following a near two-week battle after being struck by an alleged drunk driver from Yonkers on March 31. Fernando Izazaga of New Rochelle was struck by another 27-year-old, Johnny Gialanella, of Yonkers, shortly after 1 a.m. in downtown New Rochelle on March 31, officials said. Following a 12-day battle in the hospital, he was pronounced dead this week. After being struck, Izazaga was treated by paramedics and members of the New Rochelle Fire Department before being transported to a local hospital with head trauma. He was later pronounced dead.  …
