New Rochelle Firefighters Featured On Today Show With Dale Earnhardt Jr.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - With the Daytona 500 just days away, some of New Rochelle’s Bravest took their talents to the track in New York City for a special Today Show event with Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Tuesday.

In the early hours of Monday morning, members of the New Rochelle Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 273 headed to Rockefeller Center to see who had the need for speed in a series of soapbox races and challenges.

During the morning event, the firefighters conferred and competed with the likes of Carson Daly, Justin Hartley and other celebrities under the watchful eye of the two-time Daytona 500 winner, who will drive in “The Great American Race” on Sunday when the NASCAR season kicks off.

“Your New Rochelle firefighters had a blast (Tuesday) morning working with NBC on a special Daytona 500 segment,” they posted on Facebook. “We had a great time with the cast, guest Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy Reimann, and we have to give a special thanks to to the crew; it was a pleasure working side-by-side with our brothers and sisters of I.A.T.S.E. Local One and NABET Local 11.”
