Registration currently stands at 80 percent of capacity and fees increase from $55 to $60 on Aug. 15. This past year the county put $800,000 into the trails and the net proceeds from the race helped to pay for a new bridge along the way.
The event also offers a one-mile kids' trail race and online registration is available and encouraged.
This is a free event sponsored by the NewRo Runners, Half Time Beverage, The Rock Club, and New Rochelle Chevy.
Participants will need to sign a waiver since there are tripping hazards and race bib pick-up will take place at Westchester Road Runner.
