Nassau County Woman Charged With DWI After Fatal Crash
A woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a single-vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian on Long Island overnight.
Shawnet Earle, age 30, of Hempstead, was driving a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander in Wheatley Heights eastbound on Main Avenue at North 26th Street, when the vehicle struck a female pedestrian walking along Main Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, Suffolk County Police said.

ID Released For Victim In Fatal Overnight Long Island Shooting
The victim of a fatal overnight shooting on Long Island has been identified.
It happened on Saturday, Dec. 28 at approximately 2:50 a.m. in Wheatley Heights.
First Precinct officers responded to Little East Neck Road, between Charlestown Place and Westmore Place, after a 911 caller reported a man lying on the side of the road, Suffolk County Police said.
When officers arrived, they found the man, now ID'd as Frederick Delacruz, 30, of the Bronx, with a gunshot wound, police said. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.&n…
