Covid-19: 1,393 New LI Cases Reported; Cuomo Asks FEMA For Four More Temporary Hospitals There have been 1,393 more confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Long Island as the state total rose to 44,635. As of Friday, March 27, In Nassau County, 743 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 4,657 since the outbreak began. Suffolk saw 650 new cases, bringing the total to 3,385. Andrew Cuomo is ordering area hospitals to increase their capacity for beds by a minimum of 50 percent each as they prepare for a spike in cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the coming weeks.
