Man Rescued From Burning Roosevelt Home By Three Police Officers Three police officers saved a man who was trapped inside a burning Long Island home. The fire took place in Roosevelt around 3:35 p.m., Sunday, April 17, said the Nassau County Police. When officers responded to the call after receiving a 911 call they found that four residents had made it safely outside the burning home, but one man was trapped inside, police said. Three Nassau County officers ran into the home and performed a search for the trapped victim. Nassau County Woman Dies After Fire Breaks Out A woman who was hospitalized after a fire on Long Island has died. The blaze broke out Sunday, June 14 at 1:50 a.m. in Uniondale at the Park Gardens Senior Center located at 840 Uniondale Ave.  Nassau County Police officers, with the assistance of the Uniondale Fire Department, were able to safely evacuate all residents.  The 75-year old female resident suffering from cardiac arrest was transported to a nearby hospital and was later pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  One officer suffering from smoke inhalation was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. …

A 2008 Honda Pilot being driven by a 29-year-old woman crashed into a shed on Nostrand Avenue in Uniondale at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, Nassau County Police said.
