Family Of 4 Rescued Off Capsized Boat In Long Island Sound A family of four was rescued from a capsized boat on the Long Island Sound within just minutes of their call for help. The incident took place in Northport around 8:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28. Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers rescued the Brentwood family after receiving a 911 call from a 17-year-old saying he and his family were on a boat taking on water in the Long Island Sound. Brothers Rescued From Long Island Sound By Marine Police After Going Overboard Two brothers were rescued by marine police on Long Island Sound after being knocked overboard while fishing. The incident took place off Shoreham Beach around 7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 19.
