Man Sold Fake Oxy Pills, Leading To Overdoses, Death On Long Island: DA
A Long Island man was indicted for allegedly selling fake oxycodone pills that contained fentanyl, causing two overdoses and one death, according to authorities.
Anthony Trimboli, age 34 of Bayport, was arraigned on Friday, Aug. 25 on charges relating to the illegal sale of counterfeit pills, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced.
The investigation against Trimboli alleges that on Tuesday, Jan. 31, he sold pills out of his home to a 33-year-old man who thought they were oxycodone pills.
However, they were actually laced with fentanyl, the DA’s Office claimed.

Federal agents apprehended a 44-year-old fugitive in New York, where they say he was trafficking large amounts of cocaine and fentanyl.
Benito Bello, from Lawrence, Massachusetts, who also goes by the name Zuriel Ayala Rodriguez, was arrested in the Bronx on Wednesday, Aug. 10, the DEA said.
Agents said Bello had a kilo of cocaine and 14 kilos of the synthetic opioid inside the home where a minor child also lived.
Next to the house was a daycare that watched children as young as 6 weeks old, federal agents said.

Two men were arrested following a months-long investigation into drug activity, including a fatal overdose, on Long Island.
James Stremel, age 51, of Hicksville, and 39-year-old Jeffrey Huffman, of Levittown, were both arrested on Friday, April 29, according to the Nassau County Police Department

An arrest has been made in connection to the overdoses of six male college students, including several West Point cadets, on spring break in Florida.
Axel Giovany Casseus, age 21, was charged with trafficking cocaine of less than 200 grams, a first-degree felony, and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, according to court records filed Saturday, March 12, the Miami Herald reported.

Four Charged In Connection With Nassau Overdose Death, Police Say
Four people, including three Long Island residents, have been arrested in connection with an alleged overdose death on Long Island.
The four were arrested around 10 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, in Woodmere, in connection with the fatal overdose of a Nassau County resident said the Nassau County Police.
Those arrested included Krystal Incigeri, age 28, of Valley Stream, Jasmine Morales, 26, Lynbrook, Angela Aragona, 27, Valley Stream, and Avante Lester, 27, of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Incigeri was charged with criminal facilitation and unlawful possession of marijuana.
