Intoxicated Driver Crashes Into Utility Police On Long Island, Police Say A 57-year-old man was charged after police said he drove while intoxicated and crashed into a utility pole on Long Island. John Wrynn, of Sag Harbor, was arrested at about 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, following a crash in North Haven, the Southampton Town Police Department said. Authorities said Wrynn was driving east on Ferry Road when he traveled off the road and struck a utility pole. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police reported.

Authorities On Long Island Search For Missing Kayaker Authorities on Long Island are searching for a missing kayaker.  The Southampton Town Police Department reported that it received a call on Thursday, Oct. 20, that 32-year-old Dario Cholula, of Queens, was missing after he went out fishing in the area of North Haven on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Cholula was last seen between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, authorities reported. $157M Pavement Renewal Projects Announced On Long Island Include Parts Of LIE State officials have announced a $157 million investment for pavement renewal projects to ease travel on Long Island. Gov. Kathy Hochul made the announcement on Tuesday, April 19, saying the projects will take place over the spring and summer.
