Alleged Arsonist At Large Following Garden City Park Fire, Police Say Police on Long Island are on the lookout for the person who is said to have lit a luxury car on fire before fleeing. The incident happened on Monday, March 4 in Garden City Park. According to Nassau County Police, it was just after 3 a.m. when the 23-year-old victim noticed that his car, a 2012 BMW, was on fire in the driveway of his Second Street residence. The alleged arsonist is said to have fled the scene on foot, heading east on Second Street. Firefighters with the New Hyde Park Fire Department extinguished the fire, which sustained heavy damage. Three Rescued From Nassau County House Fire By Police Officer Three people were evacuated by a police officer from a home on Long Island after police found heavy smoke coming from the residence. The fire took place at a home in New Hyde Park around 11:55 a.m., Sunday, Jan., 31, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, officers responded to a Flower Lane residence for a house fire. It happened in Great Neck Plaza on Brompton Road at around 7 a.m. Sunday, April 19.
