Fatal Crash: Man Killed In 5-Vehicle Wreck Involving Garbage Truck Off Long Island Expressway One person is dead following a multi-car crash involving a garbage truck that occurred on a Long Island Expressway off-ramp. The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. Monday, July 3, in Hauppauge, at Exit 57, on the eastbound off-ramp to Express Drive South. A garbage truck rear-ended a school bus and three other vehicles that were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Motor Parkway, according to Suffolk County Police. It happened around 7 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10 in Islandia. ID Released For Motorist Killed After Jeep Crashes Into 7-Eleven On Long Island The motorist killed after a Jeep crashed into a 7-Eleven on Long Island overnight has now been identified. The crash happened around 2:25 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Brentwood. The man, now identified as Brian McLaughlin, 33, of Bay Shore, was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee westbound on Express Drive North when he lost control of his vehicle, said police.  The Jeep went airborne and struck 7-Eleven, located at 260 Motor Parkway.  McLaughlin was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
