Nassau Coliseum To Close Indefinitely As construction of the New York Islander’s new arena at Belmont Park resumes, officials have shuttered the doors of their old (and would-be temporary) home at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. Former Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov, who operates Nassau Coliseum through Onexim Sports and Entertainment, announced that the company will “shutter the venue indefinitely” as it seeks new investors for the building.
