Deer Rescued From Icy Waters On Long Island Using an ice sled and lines, police rescued a deer that had fallen through the ice on a Long Island bay.  The incident began around 4:18 p.m., when a Smith Point Park Ranger reported a deer stuck in the ice at Narrow Bay, off Smith Point County Park, in Shirley, said the Suffolk County Police. Jet Skier Holding Onto Buoy Rescued In Point Lookout A jet skier found himself in a precarious position clinging to a buoy off the Long Island coastline before police came to his rescue. The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau received a report of a jet skier, possibly in distress, holding onto a buoy at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, in Point Lookout with a disabled jet ski.
