Wanted Woman Apprehended At Garden City Motel After Violent Struggle A wanted woman on Long Island violently resisted arrest as officers attempted to take her into custody at a Nassau County motel, police said. Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s Third Precinct were dispatched to the La Quinta Motel on Stewart Avenue in Garden City at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, where there was a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were made aware that a female guest at the motel was recognized from a “Mug Shot Monday” social media alert.
