Two Seriously Injured In Crash On LI Expressway, Driver Changed With DWI, Police Say
A 23-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated after authorities said he struck an SUV on the Long Island Expressway, seriously injuring two people.
The crash happened at about 4:10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26, in Manorville.
Segundo Daquilema Lluilema, of Corona, was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla on the westbound side, east of Exit 70, when he changed lanes and struck the rear of the 2007 Toyota Highlander, Suffolk County Police Department said.
The Highlander then left the roadway and overturned.

A Long Island woman has been charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 in Copiague, Suffolk County Police said.
Sagrario Lopez-Escobar, 67, of Copiague, was driving a 2005 Toyota Sequoia westbound on 43rd Street, near Atlantic Street, when the vehicle struck an adult man walking in the roadway at approximately 10:30 p.m. Lopez-Escobar left the scene in the Sequoia.

A woman is dead and her daughter injured after a fire broke out at a home on Long Island.
Crews from the Patchogue Fire Department responded to an Ohls Street home at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Friday, June 14, where a blaze broke out, officials said.
Elisa Doughty, 65, was trapped inside the home. She died from injuries suffered during the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Cop, Slashing Victim Hit By Minivan Outside Farmingdale Hookah Bar
Numerous people were injured, including a Nassau County police officer, after a disturbance and slashing outside a popular hookah bar.
The incident began around 2:45 a.m., Saturday, April 20, when police were called to a disturbance at the Mystique Gardens Hookah Lounge, 365 Conklin St., said Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun, Nassau County Police spokesman.

Police are still searching for two of three suspects in the robbery and beating of a 42-year-old man inside a vehicle.
The incident took place around 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, in Roosevelt, when the victim got into a car with a man he knew and the two other suspects, said Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, once inside the vehicle, Ayman Hubud, 23, of Westbury, drove to the intersection of Meyer Street and E. Greenwich Street. He then took out a box cutter and informed the victim he was going to be robbed, police said.
