Video: Police Ask Public's Help In Investigation Of Hit-Run Nassau Crash Police are asking the public's help in their continued investigation of a hit-and-run Long Island crash. It happened Monday, Aug. 5 at 9:05 a.m. in Hempstead. According to Nassau County Police detectives, the female victim, 20, was operating her 2017 Toyota Corolla eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike and was struck by a light gray Honda Accord traveling southbound on Fulton Avenue.  The Accord is possibly a 2006 and had a New York Registration (yellow plate).
