Detours On Long Island Expressway Stretch Expected To Last For A Month, DOT Says Detours on a stretch of the Long Island Expressway are expected to last a month during roadwork. The New York State Department of Transportation announced on Friday, July 8 that beginning Monday, July 11, westbound traffic on the expressway will be detoured onto the North Service Road from Exit 64 (State Route 112) to Exit 61 (Patchogue-Holbrook Road/Suffolk County Route 19) in the Town of Brookhaven.
