Long Island Teen Caught In Act Burglarizing Home, Police Say A 19-year-old from Riverhead was apprehended by officers while he was committing a home burglary in Southampton, police said. It happened around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, July 19. The Southampton Town Police Department had received a call for an act of vandalism in progress at a residence in the North Sea Beach Colony.  Responding officers arrived and found a residence with damage to nearly every exterior window as well as significant damage inside the unoccupied dwelling, according to police.
