'Potential Threat' Leads To Closure Of Long Island High School A potential threat has led to the closure of a Long Island high school on Monday, March 13. Patchogue-Medford School District Schools Superintendent Dr. Donna Jones said that on Sunday evening, March 12, the district received a message concerning an unsubstantiated threat against Patchogue-Medford High School.  "No other schools in the district were mentioned," Jones noted. LI 17-Year-Old Dies After Battling Butterfly Disease 'With Bravery, Sense Of Humor' Tributes are pouring in for a beloved Long Island teenager who died after a lifelong battle with a rare skin disease that left his body covered in open wounds. Brian Ilg, of Patchogue, died Sunday, Jan. 8, at age 17, according to his obituary.
